We protect water usage, optimize energy consumption, and manage waste properly. In addition, we work to ensure that our products and services generate a positive impact on the environment.

We believe that every resource has value. That’s why, in our operations:
From paper and cardboard waste
to gypsum board paper
At Cartoncillo, we recycle over 95,000 tons of paper and cardboard annually. These materials are reintegrated as raw material in our production processes, contributing to operational efficiency and reducing the use of virgin materials.
From steel by-product
to zinc compounds
Zinc Nacional operates under a circular economy model by recovering electric arc furnace dust (EAFD) from the steel industry and safely transforming it into products such as zinc oxide and zinc sulfate.
Recycled gypsum for
a cleaner process
At Panel Rey, drywalls that do not meet quality specifications are reintegrated into the production cycle through internal reprocessing, optimizing raw material use and minimizing waste generation.

At Grupo PROMAX, we have our own nurseries, allowing us to carefully oversee every stage of the reforestation process.
From the planting and growth of native species to their transplantation at our facilities and distribution to collaborators, neighbors, and nearby communities—we actively contribute to ecological restoration and the strengthening of the natural environment.

Responsible water management
Water is one of the planet’s most valuable resources, and at Grupo PROMAX, we manage it responsibly:
We operate 5 water treatment plants,
allowing us to efficiently reuse this resource.
We promote the use of treated water
in our operations, reducing potable water consumption and protecting natural sources.
10 of our plants operate with zero wastewater discharge
into municipal drainage systems, meaning we generate no water impact in those locations.

Through these actions, we contribute to SDG 6 by promoting responsible wastewater treatment and protecting water resources.

5 of our plants use solar energy,
harnessing the power of the sun to reduce our carbon footprint.
All our facilities are equipped with LED lighting,
allowing us to save energy and contribute to a more sustainable environment.
Combined cycle,
efficient energy
Since 2015, we have operated a cogeneration plant in a combined cycle configuration that simultaneously generates electricity and useful heat for our operations. This technology allows us to supply energy to several of the group’s plants, optimizing resource use and significantly reducing our environmental footprint—reflecting our commitment to energy efficiency and industrial sustainability.

By reducing and optimizing energy consumption, and using renewable sources, we contribute to SDG 13 by mitigating the negative effects of climate change.
