Yesera Monterrey was founded by Don Eduardo Villareal Werpel with the opening of its first plant in Monterrey, marking the beginning of Grupo PROMAX
1952
With a visionary spirit, Don Eduardo Villareal Werpel’s son, Engineer Eduardo M. Villareal Bell, brought Zinc Nacional to life.
1970
Transportes y Servicios Rovi (TSR) was created to provide freight services to Grupo PROMAX companies.
1973
Yesera Monterrey expanded its operations with the construction of a second plant in Gómez Palacio, Durango.
1986
Panel Rey was founded by Engineer Eduardo Villareal Bell in partnership with Grupo PROMAX, beginning operations in El Carmen, Nuevo León.
1986
Yesera Monterrey launched operations at its third facility in El Carmen, Nuevo León, continuing its strategic expansion.
1995
Panel Rey expanded its sales operations to Guatemala, El Salvador, Costa Rica, and Colombia.
1999
Zinc Nacional began operations at the Cartoncillo Plant, supplying 100% recycled paper for the production of gypsum panels.
2002
Plaforama was established as a chain specializing in lightweight construction materials and a network of distribution centers.
2004
Passing of Engineer Eduardo Villareal Bell.
2007
Panel Rey inaugurated its Mexicali Plant, dedicated to the production of joint compound.
2007
Yesera Monterrey began operations at its fourth plant located in the capital city of San Luis Potosí.
2008
PermaBASE de América was established in El Carmen, Nuevo León.
2008
Panel Rey inaugurated its Tlalnepantla Plant, dedicated to joint compound production.
2009
Zinc Nacional acquired Steel Dust Recycling (SDR), a company dedicated to the recovery of industrial by-products, located in Millport, Alabama, United States.
2013
Panel Rey opened its fourth plant and second gypsum panel facility in San Luis Potosí.
2014
Plaforama inaugurated its 50th store in Tampico.
2015
PROMAX Energía began operations as a cogeneration plant.
2015
Supermastick, the leading joint compound brand in the Colombian market, was established as a joint venture between Panel Rey and PanelRock.
2016
Panel Rey began construction of a new gypsum board and joint compound plant in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua.
2016
Fundación PROMAX was created by Grupo PROMAX companies to foster the holistic development of vulnerable sectors, aiming to enhance their living conditions.
2017
Zinc Nacional joined forces with Heritage Environmental Services to develop a new Waelz facility, leading to the creation of Waelz Sustainable Products (WSP) in Indiana.
2017
Zinc Nacional/SDR partnered with Heritage Environmental Services to build a new plant, Waelz Sustainable Products LLP (WSP), in Indiana.
2017
Grupo PROMAX companies received the ESR (Socially Responsible Company) distinction for the first time.
2020
Jean Goldschmidt International and Zinc Nacional jointly established HarzOxid, a company dedicated to producing Waelz Oxide.
2022
Panel Rey expanded its Ciudad Juárez plant in Chihuahua.
